My bachelor’s degree in Archaeological Sciences at Philipps-Universität Marburg (2012-2016) was finished with the thesis „Latènezeitliche Funde aus dem Bereich Camp King in Oberursel, Hochtaunuskreis – Zur Frage der Ausdehnung des Heidetränk-Oppidums.“ = “La Tène-findings from Camp King in Oberursel, Hochtaunuskreis – Considerations about the extension of the oppidum Heidetränke”. I continued my master’s degree in prehistoric archaeology (2016–2020) at the same university with the thesis „Die Eisenzeit im Hochsauerland – Eine Analyse der Siedlungslandschaft im Umfeld der Bruchhauser Steine bei Olsberg, Westfalen.“ = “Iron Age in High Sauerland – An analysis of the settlement landscape in the vicinity of Bruchhauser Steine near Olsberg, Westphalia”.
I started my dissertation studies in April 2021 at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum at the Institute of Archaeological Sciences. My project (summarised below) is funded by a three-year doctoral scholarship (Gerda Henkel Foundation) since January 2022.
Research interests
My previous research mainly relates to German Iron Age in Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia, with a focus on excavation analyses and landscape archaeology. In my doctoral project, I include praxeological and spatial sociological approaches and their connection with Iron Age settlement dynamics. Furthermore, I am involved in various publications about provincial Roman and medieval archaeology.
