I studied Geology/Mineralogy (Bachelor of Science) and Geosciences with specialization in Economic mineral resources (Master of Science) at the Bergakademie in Freiberg. I wrote my master thesis about rutile from a tailing system of the El Teniente Copper porphyry deposit in Chile.
Currently, I am working at the Institute of Archaeometry of the Deutsches Bergbau-Museum in Bochum. I am writing my dissertation about the mineralogy and use of silver-rich phases apart from galena. My principal research interests are: metallic ore deposits, geochemistry, metallogeny, applied mineralogy and archaeometry.
