The winter semester pilot projects
The ReForm team is pleased to have the opportunity to support Mitja Musberg and Tobias Skowronek in their projects this semester. Mitja Musberg will be attending a conference in Innsbruck.
Tobias Skowronek is investigating the origin of steatite, also known as soapstone, in his pilot project. This raw material has been used by many cultures throughout human history and its uses are many and varied. To date, however, there is no generally valid strategy for assigning archaeological objects made of this particular material to a specific steatite deposit. Therefore, new applications with the aim of creating a geochemical fingerprint are of central importance.
Short updates on the results and findings of both projects will be published on our blog afterwards. If you would like to read about the insights gained by our other ReForum members, please take a look at our blog.
