First ReTheory Session of ReForum
Date: May 31, 2022, 16:00 c.t.
Location: Seminar Room 1, House of Archaeologies, am Bergbaumuseum 31, 44791 Bochum, Germany
On May 31, 2022, from 16:00 to 18:00, the first session of ReTheory will take place, the reading group for early career scientists in the frame of the Leibniz-ScienceCampus ReForm. All interested students are welcome to join this meeting in seminar room 1 of the House of Archaeologies in Bochum.
We would like to start with a topic that is of central importance to many of the scholars of the interdisciplinary research association ReForm: materiality. In order to approach the concept of materiality, we would like to discuss with you the contributions on materials and materiality in the journal ‘Archaeological Dialogues’ (Archaeological Dialogues 14/1, 2007, 1–38). Therefore, we would like to ask all interested people to prepare these texts written by anthropologists and archaeologists. If you do not have access to the articles, let us know!
When the weather is nice, the discussion can be continued afterwards on the meadows in front of the German Mining Museum with cold drinks.
If you would like to participate virtually in the ReTheory session, please let us know by email, so that we can prepare a hybrid setup.
We are looking forward to many participants!
